Did you know my favorite band is Daft Punk and that my favorite average tempo is 121 BPM? Did you know I'm the type of person to analyze hundreds of highly curated songs over the period of a year through a deeply personal journey?
My music taste is an extension of my introspective and curious nature. For me, music is more than just background noise—it's a way for me to explore my thoughts and ideas. Just like my writings that look at the intersections of quantum theory, consciousness, and cosmic influences, my musical preferences reflect a similar pursuit. They are diverse, thoughtful, and designed to create an environment that encourages reflection.
The tracks I curate show that I like sounds that are layered, atmospheric, and complex—much like my intellectual interests. Psychedelic, cerebral, and ambient genres are common in my playlist because they invite me to slow down and absorb the details of each note and melody. This is similar to how I like to explore abstract concepts and look for connections that aren't immediately obvious. I'm particularly drawn to songs with dissonance or evolving progressions because they remind me of the complexity of the topics I think about, like quantum neurodynamics and the non-linear nature of reality.
My music choices often have a sense of duality— meaning balancing between calmness and intensity, harmony and dissonance—similar to my reflections on consciousness, personal growth, and navigating between comfort and the unknown. The themes of space and expansiveness in my music reflect my interest in exploring big ideas and the larger context of human experience.
The playlist also reflects my emotional journey. The transitions between softer ambient tones and more intense crescendos mirror how I experience the ups and downs of living with my health challenges; both physical and mental. There are moments of calm, followed by more challenging emotions and thoughts, and my music helps me navigate these experiences.
I use music not just for entertainment, but as a tool for exploration. I'm drawn to songs that create a reflective space and act as a starting point for the kinds of questions that interest me—whether it's thinking about consciousness or the ethical implications of technology. The playlist gives me a space to think deeply and process my emotions in a safe way. Many times I use music to initiate meditation.
My music taste is tied to my broader interests in all that cosmic crap those closest to me must always hear about. Just as my writings show my curiosity and desire to connect different ideas, my music choices show how I use sound to dive deeper into these themes, creating both an emotional and intellectual backdrop for my personal journey.
